MY STORY
Every story is different, every circumstance unique.
At Lifehouse, we support AND celebrate every woman and couple who have the courage and tenacity to walk through our doors. It takes guts!
It’s not easy to reach out when you are scared, overwhelmed, vulnerable, lonely or confused. Each of these women here is now reaching out to you to share a bit of their journey with Lifehouse Pregnancy & Baby Help and to encourage you to take that first step to contact us.

"I found out last year I was pregnant with twin girls. The thought of having twins at the age of 23 scared me so much.
I was worried about where I would find support or even if there was any out there.
After reaching out to a few people I found Lifehouse. I met the beautiful ladies who run it. They actually came out to my house to meet me and the girls. They were very understanding that it would be hard for me to get anywhere with 3 week old twins.
I have had so much support from Lifehouse since the pregnancy and having the girls.
I struggled financially for quite a while when the bubs came. But I was so reassured by the help of Lifehouse that me and the girls would be looked after.
No matter what it was they have helped me in so many ways including organising a beautiful cot for the girls.
I am grateful for them and everything they do for mums and mums-to-be."

Lifehouse have been the reason I have had the strength, courage and ability to keep moving forward with my journey as a mum.
The angels at Lifehouse have supported and helped me in many different aspects of my personal journey as a parent. They have helped practically and emotionally. From someone to talk to and offload my emotions and validating my feelings and being in a safe judgement-free space where I feel comfortable.
They have provided practical support from helping with small tasks like folding washing, dishes and holding my baby so I can have a shower and something to eat and drink as this isn’t something I get to do easily. To organising meals for my husband and kids while we have been in and out of hospital with our baby. As well as accessing counselling and many other supports.
As a family we have had so many organisations involved but none of them have been as impactful and contributing to our lives.
Without Lifehouse I wouldn’t be where I am today and will be forever grateful for the impact and unconditional love and support received from them.
They truly are angels.

Being mentored by a team member at Lifehouse coached me into a healthy, happy pregnancy. I felt supported and informed.
I had so many difficulties to overcome but with unbiased support, knowledge, respect and concern I was given the options, the info and consideration throughout my pregnancy.
The system in place at Lifehouse has assisted me financially, mentally, emotionally from finding medical support to helping feather the nest.
Often a problem shared is a problem halved.
The doors open and you are welcomed at Lifehouse. There is no right and wrong. There are many ups and downs to do with pregnancy. It’s a relief there are such places as Lifehouse.
In my case, it was a lifesaver.

“When I found out I was pregnant I was over the moon, then the Gympie floods happened.
We bought the house 6 months prior and worked out the roof didn't seal properly which resulted in the house filling with water.
By the time an insurance claim was put in, all our belongings and walls were coated with mould.
I had seen the Lifehouse ad on the back of the bus and thought it sounded like a great service for mums who needed it.
As my pregnancy went on, I was faced with complications leaving me with a high risk status. At the time when I went to Lifehouse, I lived in a caravan on my property with my husband and toddler. After fighting with insurance about our home, working full time, being a mum to a toddler and a wife, I was exhausted and not coping.
I went to hospital with suspected contractions at 20 weeks, turns out it was just stress. It was suggested I have a chat to Lifehouse.
Lifehouse opened their arms to us and have provided us with nothing but support and love. Lifehouse is a judgement-free safe space for all who just need a hand up during pregnancy and after birth.
They worked around what we needed and give what they can when they can.
I wouldn't be who I am without Lifehouse. The ladies just understand what life throws at us and offer support.
I needed a village and Lifehouse is a part of my village.”
