• Lifehouse Pregnancy & Baby Help centre, opened in May 2021, launched as a response to the practical, emotional and relational needs of women and families experiencing distress with unplanned pregnancy, pregnancy circumstances, pregnancy loss and baby challenges.

We exist as a safe, compassionate place to find localised, practical support, to learn skills, get needed, accurate information, build resilience and experience pro-active nurture during pregnancy decision-making, pregnancy or baby parenting.

Our pregnancy & baby help service is an independent, non-government funded nationally registered charity. We liaise with local family & medical support services and the community to provide targeted solution-focused support to those who need extra help .

We operate both the Lifehouse Pregnancy & Baby Help Centre and the Lifehouse Loved Pregnancy to Pre-School Op Shop within our local community.

Lifehouse is a registered tax-deductible charity.

  • VISION
That every person, including the unborn, is valued, nurtured and empowered to grow and thrive.

    MISSION
Lifehouse  Queensland Inc. exists to support and enable the women,  men  and families of our Region to embrace and nurture all lives in their care, particularly the vulnerable, the voiceless and the unborn, through counselling, mentoring  and practical help.

  • The Intrinsic Value of Life
We affirm that human life is of infinite value, begins at conception, and that every  person, irrespective of age, development or circumstance,  is deserving of respect and protection of life.

We are ‘pro-person’ - man, woman, child and baby, those born and those unborn.

We are dedicated to  fostering an unconditional atmosphere of warmth, kindness and practical care for those who access our services in need of assistance, always within a framework of utmost respect for the lives and futures of all those involved.

    Providing Accurate Information
We believe that accurate information is the right of all pregnant women, parents-to-be and parents. We believe it is also a key to empowerment and enlightened decision-making.

    Professionalism
We believe our clients, staff and the community should experience high quality, professional services within and through the work of Lifehouse Queensland Inc.
Staff, whether paid or volunteer; are trained through professional, quality education courses to equip them for their roles.

We provide relationship-centred, solutions-focused, client-centric support to our clients. Our staff and our organisation have a responsibility to ensure our preparedness to undertake such  work.

Clients  can  expect to be treated in a caring and professional manner by all staff, educators and  anyone associated with  Lifehouse  Queensland Inc.  and through our activities in the community.

    Nurture
We believe that attachment between parent and infant is the bedrock of the emotional and mental development of an infant, and that the nurture and love that underpins healthy attachment is foundational to a stable society.

We believe it is the right of every human to receive such nurture  and  we  seek to model and offer that nurture through building trust,  supporting the vulnerable,  voiceless  and the powerless,  being kind, honest, respectful and unconditionally loving.

    Active, Practical Support
We believe that suitably directed support  and friendship  bring  hope and confidence to the experience of pregnancy and  parenting and  are  also  central to  the support of women and families experiencing  recovery after  the grief of pregnancy or infant loss.

    Integrity
We believe that the best service provision occurs within a context of honesty,  transparency  and reliability.  This fosters  an environment of mutual trust and respect between clients,  staff  and others involved in pregnancy & baby support.

    Mentoring  and Counselling
We affirm the value of intentional encouragement, mentoring  and counselling  relationships between Lifehouse  staff , volunteers and clients. We believe that these activities can nurture support, friendship, information-sharing and encouragement to pursue a thriving life, a sense of identity and purpose,  and parenting skills to help build intergenerational resilience & quality of life.

    Building Kind Community
We believe that a community that interacts, supports and provides opportunities for families to grow and thrive is a great scaffold for improving health and wellbeing.

We believe it’s possible for our community to come together and create opportunities and pathways for that wellbeing, through collaborative support and being generous of heart, time and resources, to empower individuals and those they care for.

We believe we all individually and as a community can make a real difference in the lives of the vulnerable, voiceless and those who are looking for pathways to positive change.

    Lifehouse Queensland will…
In all our relationships and activities, endeavour to serve with integrity, respect, humility, honesty,  warmth  and accountability. We are intentional. We pursue excellence. We champion others. We listen. We speak up. We seek wisdom & we choose kindness.

Whilst respecting the unique life perspectives of all individuals, the Lifehouse culture and ethos is based in and springs from a faith-based, Christ-centred approach. We are always prayerful, always hopeful. We serve our community unconditionally, with passion, courage and the conviction that love is our power, every person matters and change is always possible.
